      Hi πŸ™‚
When I was around 11 or 12 I read a book from the school library about diseases that said β€˜In 100 years scientists will have found cures for all diseases known today.’
At the time I thought that was amazing and I wanted to be a part of finding these cures.
Now that I am older and know how complicated science is I have to say the book was probably wrong, but we still have made great progress. And I am still hoping that the work I do contributes to the better understanding of diseases and how to find a cure for them.

Hi CallumG, I think many things led me to choose a career in science. Firstly, I loved all things biology as a child – especially earth worms, insects and birds. I enjoyed Biology in school and during my Undergraduate, I absolutely loved doing experiments. I thought this was the most fun thing! When I realised I could do this as a job, that was what got me excited and motivated to pursue a job in science. Now I am a doing experiments almost everyday (… well pre-covid).
