Just to subvert the Cambridge party! I went to Northumbria University then Newcatle University and then the University of Sheffield.
You don’t need to go to Cam/Ox to excel in science at all. In fact some of the best students I meet are those who went to teaching focussed universities as they had much more practical experience. This is one of those myths I see a lot in science and did sometimes put me off when I was a student.
*I have worked in Cambridge so experienced the university from that side of things
Agree with Jonny here 🙂 I went to University of Aberdeen then Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. I really started to see changes in my scientific skills (analysis, experimental design, logic etc) when I did more practical work!
I went to the University of Glasgow for my undergraduate degree, just a short train journey from my Mums house where I stayed to save money! I got to do a year abroad in Sweden in my second year which was brilliant to live in a new country and experience a different culture.
